The SiteLink Client is superior by design to other web-based systems. First-generation 'thin client' programs force users to operate through a web browser without menus, buttons, and tools of today's Windows programs. Thin client web systems are inherently slow because all processing takes place on distant web servers subject to Internet latency. Expensive web servers must handle all computational loads and leave the processing capabilities of your site computers unused. To increase speed and balance loads between servers and site computers, we host your data on a web server and also keep a copy of the database at each store. With a copy of the database at each facility, we are able to integrate Microsoft tools and create a program with the look and feel of a Windows application.

Printing in first-generation web systems can be slow and cumbersome. Reports and letters in the SiteLink Client print fast, right from computers on-site, not the web server. Documents look professional. Accessing data is fast because the database resides locally on the store's computer. By having copies of your data on a web server and the SiteLink Client, you get the best of both worlds.

SiteLink Web Edition is easy to maintain. The built-in Live Update feature eliminates worry about version conflicts and managing upgrades via CD. And, SiteLink Web Edition is secure; we use SQL Server databases and encrypt your data. We use 128-bit encryption and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to connect the database on site with the web server.
